Interesting that Y Combinator focuses much of their investment decisions on the type of people behind the startups and not necessarily on the startup or the idea itself.
So if I'm correct, I should be able to take any above-average idea to Y Combinator and based on my success with WooThemes, I'll be funded?
I'm not nit-picking or criticizing; instead I find it intriguing that such a successful incubator - with a good track record of backing great startups - picks the team first & foremost. From the link above it also definitely seems that this strategy is core to their success and I'm just wondering whether that would actually get me funding (if I ever wanted / needed it)? :)
